We are developing a 30-year Sustainability Strategy and are seeking community input from March to June 2024
Join us in shaping our sustainable future!

Sustainability Strategy 2055
As part of our commitment to corporate responsibility and environmental stewardship, La Trobe is embarking on the development of a 30 year Sustainability Strategy, which will be supported by an Implementation Plan. We will be developing our Strategy in consultation with our diverse community from March to June 2024. There will be many ways you can have your say about the future of sustainability at La Trobe University.
At La Trobe University we work with students, staff, and the community to make sustainability central to everything we do, by:
- Recognising that sustainability encompasses economic, social, and environmental dimensions.
- Integrating sustainability across all operations, curriculum, and research.
- Embedding sustainability in the culture and practices of the University through the broadest engagement with staff, students, employers, and partners in the community and in government.
- Becoming known as the leading sustainable university in Australia and a leader internationally.
It is expected that a new draft Sustainability Strategy will be available for community feedback by September.

La Trobe University acknowledges that our campuses are located on the unceded lands of many traditional custodians in Victoria. We recognise their ongoing connection to the land and value their unique contribution to the university and wider Australian society.
We pay our respects to their Elders, past and present, and thank them for their ongoing care of the land, skies and waterways of this beautiful country.
